Whole Lambay Lobster

Whole Fresh Irish Lobster (dispatched before shipping)

A single premium Irish pot-caught lobster, landed fresh and delivered alive or dispatched. Sourced from low-impact coastal boats and selected for quality, vitality, and size. Perfect for Christmas, special occasions, or a proper lobster dinner at home.

Serves 1–2.

Serving Ideas

  • Classic lobster dinner
Cook whole and serve with melted butter, lemon, salad, or chips.
  • Split and grill
Halve lengthways after cooking, brush with butter, and finish under the grill or on the barbecue.
  • Lobster cocktail
Cook, chill, then break down the meat and fold through Marie Rose or yuzu mayo.
  • Bisques and sauces
Keep the shells. Roast lightly, then simmer with shallots, garlic, tomato, white wine, and stock. Reduce and strain for a rich lobster bisque or sauce.

How to Cook

Boiling (recommended)

Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a rolling boil.

Place the lobster in head-first, cover, and cook:

  • 500–600g: 10–12 minutes
  • 600–800g: 12–15 minutes

Drain and rest briefly before serving.

Alternative methods

  • Steam instead of boil for slightly firmer texture
  • Split and grill after boiling for finishing

Full handling and cooking instructions included.

How to Eat Your Lobster

  1. Tail
Twist to remove. Crack the shell, pull out the tail meat whole, slice or serve as is.
  2. Claws
Twist off. Crack the large claw, remove the meat. Separate the pincer and extract the sweet knuckle meat.
  3. Legs
Twist off and suck or press the meat out, or use a pick.
  4. Body
Split lengthways and remove any remaining meat. Discard the stomach sac and gills.
  5. Serve
Finish with lemon, melted butter, or your preferred dip.
